Google has yet again released another feature in its long list of online products and is set to launch globally within the next few days, helping searchers understand the context of a search result more clearly from the site hierarchy.
Keep your eyes peeled as you will see the new feature from time to time in search results.
Up until now, Google usually shows a green web address or URL at the bottom of each search result to show you where you're heading. Google are now rolling out an improvement that replaces the web address or URL with a hierarchy which shows the exact location of the page on the website. This new feature will prove beneficial as you can either jump straight to that exact page from the results or you could actually click on one of the links in the hierarchy to go to the relevant category.
It can get to the stage where the search result links do not actually take you to the relevant page but that of a completely different subject. This new feature will help make it easier for you to understand the link by showing you a breadcrumb view of a site's hierarchy.
I'm not quite sure if this is a major improvement or just something else Google wants to get into the spotlight for but none the less, Google are slowly taking over everything, or at least setting the bench mark.
