Kingston strikes a deal with Paramount!

Memory giants Kingston have announced a deal with Paramount to sell films on its USB memory sticks and SD cards.

The movies on the Kingston memory sticks will be available to consumers both as a part of a value-added bundled package or for sale independantly as a different althernative to DVD or Blu-Ray.

General Manager of Paramount Digital Entertainment, Alex Carloss, said "This unique agreement enables us to make available our entertainment offerings on USB and SD cards."

"As more and more movies are viewed on computers and other portable devices, having a relationship like this will become increasingly important."

The companies have declined to give any hints of where, when or how the films would be on sale, or how digital rights management would impact playback.

Digital media cards are an excellent way of putting content on to devices with no optical drives such as netbooks, especially as memory increases and the price per GB drops.

Putting DVDs onto a shelf, looks fine, but how could you make say 10 Kingston memory sticks onto a shelf and still look as good?

Also what about if the memory stick becomes corrupt somehow, what would happen then? There are pros and cons but i'm sure Kingston and Paramount will think about sorting out the cons!
