Google has launched 'Google Page Speed,' a downloadable Add-On for the Mozilla Browser (for some reason, not Google's own Chrome browser!) allowing webmasters to analyse their website's page speed.
The tool also provides suggestions on how to change pages in order to improve their speed. One example being page Speed can create compressed images automatically. It also identifies room for improvement when it comes to using JavaScript an/or CSS scripts.
All of Page Speed's suggestions are based on best practice guidelines for improving and maintaining a good level of website page speed. You can find out tips and advice in our article on Improving Page Speed.
Google Page Speed Team members Richard Rabbat and Bryan McQuade commented that "We believe that making our websites load and display faster improves the user's experience and helps them become more productive."
