Google AdWords is a form of Pay Per Click advertising. As the name suggests, advertisers only pay for each click generated from the display of their adverts.
First launched in 2000, Google AdWords has changed vastly to incorporate many different options for online advertisers. This helped Google achieve a revenue of $21 billion in 2008.
What are the advantages?
Pay Per Click advertising through AdWords allows you to get on the front page of Google search engine results almost instantly unlike with Search Engine Optimisation, which can take some time before you see results. However, using Pay Per Click can be expensive in the long term so is best used in partnership with optimisation work...
